I have a Cg814W netgear wireless modem gateway and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it to allow me to play counterstrike source online.

Can I buy a modem that doesnt have a router on it to bypass all that crap?
 
Might be that you can switch Off the Router part and use it as a regular Gateway Modem.
