I'm currently living in a horrible housing situation, but no one seems to be taking action. I reported my housemates to the coordinator for residential education for excessive noise, partying, drinking, drug abuse, and racial insensitivity.

This kind of behavior surprises you in a college dorm?

It shouldn't be tolerated, if the res. life staff have any kind of balls behind 'em.

A lot of young people are a-holes. Raised by television sets and a lack of family values. The only thing that can change them is time.

Doesn't change the fact that the behavior is unacceptable. Do we stop and consider some poor man's lack of morals when he's stabbing someone on a street corner? Hell, no, we call the cops and punish the bastard.

As it should be with these halfwits.

My freshman year, the RA tried to grow a sack and get me to stop "harassing" my roommate. Unfortunately for her (and my roommate), while making fun of someone for their age, gender, ethnicity, race, religion,..., and Vietnam veteran era status were considered harassment, making fun of someone for being stupid enough to piss into the wind (while on a boat) is not considered harassment by my school.

To continue on,

I guess the real reason why I'm even pursuing this further is the fact that I feel my confidentiality has been violated. The chain of command works like this, CAO>Assitant CAO>CRE>RA. I spoke with my CRE first about this situation, but her only action was to send out a letter saying, you are accused of this and that - we should mediate. In our meeting, she PROMISED me that there would be a retaliation clause, basically saying that as a result of this letter, you can't retaliate against the person that reported you. That clause didn't show up in the letter, so I guess that insinuated that my housemates could kill me if they wanted. So they got a bunch of their guy friends together to rev their car directly at me, and then chase me down with it. At that point, I chose to bypass the CRE, since she didn't do her job in protecting me, and went straight to the CAO, the Chief Administrative Officer and told them what had happened. He said that he would move me out of there, but also chose to relay his meeting notes to the CRE whom I had met with before. She was so irked by the fact that I had met with someone higher up than her, she went and TOLD my housemates about me moving out, and that I was blowing this out of proportion. My housemates are in turn now, after hearing that I'm moving out, TALKING in front of me about how they are going to be moving this guy in here(one of their boyfriends) and how glad they are to be rid of me. Doesn't this violate my confidentiality? Can I get them on this ? I don't see the reason behind why my CRE would even NEED to tell my housemates about my decision to move out. It doesn't concern them. When I leave, they will see it, won't they? Geez.

I don't see this as fair to me at all. I move out, take time out of my schedule, waste my weekend, spend more money for a single, just so that they can have one of their boyfriends move in?

Argh... this is so frustrating. I'm working on an assembly program right now, and I didn't even get my syscalls right... :(

Check this out, dude!
"Man sued for venting auto-service blues on BBS" - here

"Georgia Tech graduate student George Mantis has been sued for libel by a local Volkswagen dealership after detailing his unpleasant experience with the company's service department on a BBS at VW enthusiast Web site VWvortex."

Important: This person said to be seeking revenge, rather than just stating his opinion and recommending something.

Yeah, see. That's what I"m afraid of. If I do take this too far, can't they revoke my admission to the university? I just want a quiet place to live and study.

Just don't use your real name :) GoDaddy.com registrar provides "anonymous" domain registration. Their name, not yours, will appear on all the Whois information. Of course, they will be obligated to disclose your real name in case of a legal battle :)

If you use your real name, your professors may give you a hard time once they find out about your little site.
