Can I bad mouth an online vendor here?

:disgust:CompSource.Inc accepted my order for the new Antec NSK-6500 case on 7 April and charged my card on 7 April. Since then I have checked with them a number of times and each time they promised shipment in two or three days. Finally, I checked with Antec. They told me that the NSK-6500 had not been released to resellers as yet and they couldn't speculate on when that would happen. On 24 May I e-mailed Antec again and they responded that they expected the first container of 6500's in Fremont , CA around mid-June. I e-mailed CompSource for a shipping update on May 26 and they responded that the case should be shipped from their Georgia warehouse in two to three days. That sounds like a lie to me unless they aren't bothering to check with their supplier for expected shipping dates.

What I think happened here is they knew when they took my $100 bucks that the case was no where like available and just kept stringing me along. If they had advertised pre-ordering that's one thing and most companies won't charge your card until the item ships. They touted shipping within 1 - 3 days back on April 7 and promptly charged my card (debit card). I told the whole story to the BBB in CompSources home town, Cleveland, Ohio.

I'm going to wait them out and see when they do finally ship the case at $100 with free shipping - that's why I went with them in the first place. I should have done the right thing and waited until NewEgg offered the case. If the end of June passes with no case on my front steps. They will be in a heap of trouble with my card issuer and the Ohio Attorney General.

Take heed and don't do business with c-source .com. If I had only taken the time to check thier reseller rating before I clicked ----

Jimmy just have your credit card comapany do a charge back.
The OHIO attorney general doesn`t care about one $100 case. maybe 1,000 but one...nope!

Also I just went to that site....
There is no Antec NSK-6500 case listed.
Not a single reference....hmmmm

You should have been weary at the start. Repoutable companies don't charge you for an item before they ship it. Unl;ess they just had a hold on it.

Either way, thats a long time. PM Tankguys here and he'll give you the real skinny on when they'll be available. He may even sell you one 😛

I think you''re wrong, at least about Newegg. Cheifvalue/newegg told me that they put holds on the funds but will not charge it until it ships. For instance, if you cancel an order with Newegg, you don't get a refund, you get a cancellation notice.

I know, I know. I got this big need to get that Antec NSK-6500 - so when I saw $100 and free shipping I jumped. I should have done my homework. Did learn a new clue though - If you don't see a new Antec case offered on NewEgg, or ZZF or any of the big names - it is 90% likely that product isn't available to market.

Looks like it may be Sonata III. It's a smidgen smaller than the 6500, and of course a new kid on the block. Or maybe - a P-150 II?

I'm going to go with the 6500. It is probably on the same shipment with Solo.

I have a new story today, I'll make a separate entry.

On second thought skooma, the Solo case does look good. A black P-150 some are calling it. But I don't want shiny sides I tried that with the first Sonata (which my wife inherited and never looks at because it is burrowed away in the bottom of her armoire). I would be very unlikely to use HD suspension - so I can't get myself to enamored with the Solo. I do wonder how they can charge less for the Solo with the sandwiched side panels for noise reduction. It would seem it would be more expensive to produce. But -but the side panels on the 6500 are probably coming of the assembly line as side panels for a couple of other model Antec cases, and the shiny panels for the Solo are probably in the same boat, no pun intended.

Pun intended, I hope the boat they are both in docks soon.

🙂

As a member of AT far wiser than I reminded me, nobody has to use the suspension cables.

And yeah, its basically a black P150 sans PSU.
