Can I assault someone and get away with it too?

It sucks but if you can't get evidence into the court room you can't blame him for getting off.

I can agree with you there. The victim also refused to testify (not a surprise). I would really like to know why the video could not be entered into evidence.

If anything deserves a riot I'd say that does.

The cop should be lined up and shot, along with the judge and the the union rep (who clearly is extremely corrupt).

The guy from the police officer's union (?) should be fired as well. "It's obvious he lunged forward" is a complete bullshit lie, public should be calling for his head.

I also want to know why the video wasn't allowed, open and shut case imo.

yeah sadly if the evidence is not allowed (why the fuck not!?) you can't find him guilty.

Don't want to get punched in the face? Don't get arrested. Pretty simple.

that's pretty ignorant.

while i agree you shouldn't get arrested. that does not give the PD a right to assault you.

Yep, that was even more clear-cut unprovoked battery than that jail deputy who beat down the teen girl for flicking a shoe at him. But I think that officer was charged and found guilty, or at least never got his job back. This one got himself the police-friendly judge, victim was probably too scared to testify.

Only chance at getting him now is for federal civil rights offense. Let's hope its forwarded to the Justice Department and they decide to have a go, which won't end well for him. The f-cking police union is being, well, pretty much a typical union.
