Can HP M537 still be used with Windows 7?

When my HP Photosmart M537 camera was produced the most current Windows OS was XP. My old desktop which was still using XP went down a couple weeks ago and is still not repaired. When I wanted to take some pictures with my M537 I tried downloading the HP Photosmart camera software to my Windows 7 laptop and it was rejected. I tried calling HP but was told they no longer provide camera support by phone and refered me to their website for any possible help...and it has none for this problem because apparently HP only provides software and drivers for Windows OS versions up to XP, but does not provide support for the more current Windows 7 & 8.

Does anyone know if there's an independent source (free hopefully) for software and drivers that will allow the M537 to work with Windows 7 also?

It looks like your camera uses SD cards. The easiest thing to do is get a card reader, they usually transfer quicker than the camera does anyway.

I use this Kingston myself.

Yeah, I've no idea why anyone would bother with connecting their camera to the computer.... take out the memory card and plug that into a reader - why bother with more software, more drivers, and all that crap?

Thanx for the suggestion of the card reader. I had never used on so the idea didn't pop into my mind

Your suggestion is on target. I've already got a card reader ordered. Thank you for your help

Excellent! You're going to love it - and you can use it even when you don't have the HP camera anymore...
