Can hotmail account be deleted? How?

I never use my hotmail account anymore. I want to cancel it. How?

I think if you don't sign in after 3 months or so it deletes itself. Or so I've been told.

It's like 20 days or something now.

I just signed into mine yesterday and it gives me a renew your account page since it has been so long since I have signed in.

it closes the account, but if u log into in the future you can reactivate it.

i just did that with an account i havent used in over a year.

and it still gets a crap load of junk mail.
