Can get new Verizon phone...

My contract is up and I can get a new phone. I was thinking about either the Thunderbolt or the Revolution. Or is there something in the pipeline that I should wait for? One thing that is important is that I can root the phone. My understanding is that you can root both the Thunderbolt or the Revolution.

Also, how is Verizon handling tethering on rooted phones? Is it still the old "it works, but don't get greedy" situation or are they locking down the system better.

thunderbolt is rootable and has alpha versions of AOSP roms available

as far as tethering, "it works, but dont get greedy" seems to be Verizon's course of action at the moment. as long as you're rooted, tethering should work. but if you start streaming netflix and stuff on your PC, expect to be caught.

You can't wait until past July 6 or you'll lose the possibility of unlimited 4G.
