are those 1gb 4870s? If so, they are faster than gtx480 or 5870. If you want to upgrade for crysis 2, why not wait until the game comes out?
Considering 4850s go for $85 new, I am pretty sure you can sell those 4870 512MB for $70 a piece. Then you can get 2x GTX460 768 for $400. That's a nice upgrade for $260 once you overclock them to GTX470 speeds. However, if you are planning to upgrade for future games, than just wait until they come out. Plus it will be interesting to see what ATI's response will be with 5850's pricing.
that combo you have is nothing to put your nose up at and DX11 is worthless right now anyway.
Just to confuse even more, you can get EVGA GTX 470's for $256 after BCB (no rebate hassle) from TD right now after $30 coupon. I have 2x 810MHz GTX 460's on order, but may change for $25 more/ card.
Hah...18 months ago if you said DX10.1 was worthless on this forum you would have a lynch mob after you...
But yes, I agree. I own both a nV (480) and ATi (5850) DX11 card. And I can honestly say DX11 does nothing for me right now.
I actually force DX10 in BF:BC2 on the 5850, and honestly I dont see a difference except a little performance gain in 10 V 11.
So long as consoles stay stuck on Dx9 hardware we will not see much of any benifit, or at least that's how it seems to be going with directX and the PC.
