Hi,
I am a student thinking of getting a new laptop and Maya 7.0. I would like the laptop to run Maya, but I am not sure if it's capable. The laptop I am thinking of is the Uniwill 259EN3 which has the switchable video card. It can switch between the dedicated nVidia GeForce Go 6600 and the integrated Intel GMA 900. http://www.uniwill.com/products/hybrid/259en3/259en3.php?HL=1&P=1
I just really like the switching feature as it allows long battery life. The big question is, can the 6600 card run Maya 7.0? I looked up the Alias qualification sheet (http://www.alias.com/eng/support/maya/qualified_hardware/QUAL/maya_70_win.html)
and of course, it says all GeForce cards are not qualified. Just what does "not qualified" mean?
If I had all the money in the world, I would go for a workstation laptop, but reality being as it is, I have to go for a cheaper option. What are your thoughts on this?
