Do you guys think Johnson has a chance of getting a decent chunk of the vote? I think he'll do better than Nader but not as well as Perot. I decided recently that I'm going to vote for Johnson. "throw my vote away" but i'm tired of the two party status quo

I hope he can get 8% of the republican vote, and yes I do like Johnson, moreso than RP.

i think the biggest issue they differ on is pro-life/choice and they have slightly different opinions on immigration reform

I disagree that a vote for a third party is throwing your vote away. Sure, you know they will not win. But, imagine if every 4 years, votes for third parties went up 3-5%. A trend in that regard would surely get the attention of the established parties, as it would clearly show a growing dissatisfaction and willingness to look for solutions outside the norm. And you get to thumb your nose at BOTH the D's and the R's!

Make sense? Agree/disagree?

IMHO, the vote precentage Gary Johnson win for the Libartarian party will be of a lesser importance in 2012, but far more important in 2016. Because if the Libertarian party gets over X% in 2012, they will be guaranteed to be on the ballot in 2016.

As it is GOP operatives in all 50 States are hard at work to make sure Gary Johnson is not on the printed ballot. Even if I will not be voting for Gary Johnson, I think what the GOP is doing keep Gary Johnson off the ballot is unfair, but if the democrats perceived Gary Johnson would hurt them more than the GOP, they would be probably be doing the same thing.

But that raises another question, given the fact anyone can run for Prez, how do we deside who will be on the printed ballot and who not? And raises anonother question about the American party of H. Ross P that won enough votes in 1996 to have a place on the ballot in 2000, yet when the voodoo stick declined to run in 2000, it allowed Pat Bucnhan with zero in common with the American Party to hijack the American party and subsequently get almost no popular votes. But still ole Pat had an impact on the Florida printed ballot as Many vision challenged thought they were voting for Gore and found they instead voted for Pat.

Pat Buchanan was right about a lot of issues, I would take him over the clown we have now

This seems out of place:
Stem cell research should only be completed by private laboratories that operate without federal funding.

This isn't neutrality on personal beliefs, it's pandering to religious views on abortion. It isn't the government's place to have religious beliefs.
If an anti-choicer wants to have a laboratory that doesn't do stem cell research, he can open his own lab and not use them. Woohoo free market!

This poll puts him at 3% of likely voters and 4% of registered voters. http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2012/images/09/10/rel10a.pdf

5% would be a huge accomplishment and would raise his and the Libertarian party's profiles. My money is on 4% or less. No way he'll get 8%.

How is Ron Paul insane and a bigot:confused:

I absolutely agree in this regard, in that voting for third-party and having them get a "significant" amount of votes will be very telling of the political landscape of america is important. I also realize he won't take the office. Something has to be done about the R/D bi-poly which are essencially the same party that's comforatable with the status quo. . . they just seem to convince people otherwise year after year. .

To be honest I think this was staged around back of a Klan meeting. They closed the windows to ensure no cotton fields were shown.
