Can FreeBSD do everything a router can do??

I think so.. I use linux mandrake for a firewall/router.. so I guess that BSD can do it too.. don't know for sure though... use linux maybe.

A friend of mine just set up OpenBSD to work as a router/firewall, I helped him a bit over the phone.

He says it works great.

The answer is yes since Unix by itself is a router... We've replaced Cisco routers with FreeBSD boxes to run T1 and DS3 circuits using www.etinc.com cards... Works like a charm and better than the Cisco's themselves.
