can fat ppl break dance?

there was a pretty fat kid back in my HS who was into breakdancing.

he could do some nice looking hand moves/pops/intro dance but couldn't do the windmill and etc.

it's not physically possible. to do those things, you have to be shape to support your own weight with your limbs.

I think that is how it all started. A few fat guys tried to dance and kept breaking things. So they had to start rolling around on the floor to avoid lamps and stuff. Then the thin guys saw this and modified it a bit to what we know today.

Look at it this way... a skinny guy has some nice smooth bones he can spin on... a fat guy breakdancing would have the same effect as him jumping on a dry slip n' slide. It wouldn't be pretty. 😉

I've never seen a grossly obese person bboy, but there are some larger bboys who break.

I've seen chubby poppers and lockers, but not that many overweight breakers. Breaking is VERY athletic, and you have to be in pretty good shape to do what they do.
