Can fastwrites actually be enabled for GF3 with a registry patch?

I read from various forums that fastwrites are disabled in GF3. However, someone claimed to have made a registry patch for VIA chipset to enable fastwrites in Windows 2K. Here's the link: GF3 Registry Patch for VIA Chipset

I'm thinking that it's not possible if the fastwrite feature is disabled in the GF3's BIOS and he's claiming that a registry patch will do it?? What do you think?
