Can dogs go nuts/crazy over time?

... Apparently over the past month or so, his dog started getting nuttier and nuttier. Starting with a hatred of garbage trucks. And several days ago, the dog didn't obey a command from his master to leave the kitchen and tried biting him. And today, he chased his first vehicle, a dump truck. He lost and died instantly due to a broken neck.

We all kinda think the dog started going crazy lately. Can this happen to dogs?

Perhaps he got some brain disease (it can happen to humans too), but cockers are born with a screw loose already.

I had a dog who went crazy. He jumped into this guys house, and attacked his kids. Then he tore the sh!t out of their garage!!!

Yes. From some site I found: "The location of the brain tumor will determine what symptoms you see at home. A dog that has a tumor in the forebrain might have seizures or behavioral changes." I think your dog was experiencing behavioral changes.

Could it be a brain tumor?

It still sucks to loose him. I don't think I'll say this to the owners though. Probably would bother them more knowing that they could have done soemthing if they knwe the symptoms.

My neighbors think their 15 year old mutt is going senile. She has been with another dog her whole life but about 6 months ago she started atacking him everytime they are together.

My bitch is totally off her rocker. Just over seven years old & she's already snapping at everyone & chasing ghosts around the living room.

One of our dogs is 8 years old and has developed anxiety. I thought he was hurt, he was laying around and whining all the time for no reason. Took him to the vet, checked out okay, and the vet gave me some pills to give him during the peak thunderstorm months.

He said he has lots of patients that have this problem....possible something could have spooked him, he may be apprehensive because we moved a few months ago...many different causes.

Either way, I gave him the happy pills until about 2 weeks ago, and he seems fine. Whatever it was, he seems to have gotten over it.

Yes, cocker spaniel's are known to be vicious. I had a biology book that explained why but basically it boils down to the way they are bred. I had a cocker spanier that was put to sleep because it was vicious. If I were to ever get another dog, it would be a beagle.

Not suggesting this is what happened to you but I know of a family member who's own family is a very emotionally strange place to grow up in and the 2 dogs they have had have both been either nuts or become very mean.

Really, me too. If I ever get too old to have fun anymore or suicidal I'm chasing one of those bastards down and rolling under it.
