Is there a MHZ match problem ?


Can I take a DP 1.4 cable on one side and connect it to the HDMI 2.0 receiver on the other?

Shouldn't make any difference since this is HDMI 2.0. There aren't any DP1.4 only ports.

Not true. I've used the Club3D Active DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter, with a 4K UHD display at 3840x2160, 60Hz, 4:4:4 Chroma, which requires more than 10.2Gbit/sec bandwidth. In fact, I'm pretty sure that DisplayPort has more bandwidth than HDMI of a similar generation, even if their physical clock is not the same.

The fact that a video card transmitted a signal does not mean that the signal has been fully transmitted!

Remember that first-generation NVIDIA released video cards called HDMI 2.0A whose bandwidth was 10.2 GB and not 18!

And it took NVIDIA a few months to admit the scam!

No, you're flat-out wrong. ALL variants of HDMI 2.0 support/require 18Gbit/sec of bandwidth.

HDMI 2.0 itself isn’t really about resolution, though, but bandwidth. More bandwidth is what makes all of its new standards possible. HDMI 2.0 systems can transfer data at up to 18Gbps, up from 10.2Gbps in HDMI 1.4.

You were wrong about DisplayPort 1.2 only having 10.2Gbit/sec of bandwidth too - it has 21.6Gbit/sec of bandwidth possible!

VESA has beefed up its royalty-free display interface by, among other things, doubling bandwidth from 10.8 Gbps for the DisplayPort 1.1a standard to an impressive 21.6 Gbps for the new one.

So please stop with the false BS. Learn something for once.
