Can I have WIn98x and Win2k share the same programs. I want to put 98 on one partition, Win2k on another and have them share programs on a third partition. Is that possible or is the way it is DONE ?
TIA
c.
As long as you install the programs in both Win98 and Win2K you should be fine. For example, install MS Office in Win98 to E:\Program Files\Office\, and then boot up Win2k and install MS Office to the same directory.
You might want to check out tweak3d.com for a guide to dual-booting. There are ways to share the page file and other neat tricks.
Yeah, doing it that way should work. But if the programs do anything to the registry while running, the copy of the program for the other OS won't be affected.
