Can current mobos support DDR333?

I'm mainly thinking of KT266A boards since that's what I'll probably upgrade to in the near future. Does it just take a bios update to support the 166MHz memory or are there physical changes that have to be made to the boards?

Howdy,
The memory bus has to be designed to take the speed. If it's not designed that way, a software flash won't do it.

100Mhz SDRAM = PC1600 DDR
133Mhz SDRAM = PC2100 DDR
166Mhz SDRAM = PC333 DDR

Note the change in naming convention, don't ask me why.

If I wanted to overclock a DDR board, I'd look for:
1. The DDR Ram with the best CAS timings
2. PC2100 or PC2400

Mushkin makes fast high quality PC2100:

Good luck,
