Have you checked all the physical connections? Also, have you made sure you've enabled everything in the software.

Can you post a little more info: i.e. How many speakers (2.1/5.1/7.1) and some info about your computer (and sound card if you have one).

Have you checked that your SB live software has been switched to 7.1. I just use onboard sound, but I know that you need to let it know what sort of system you're using.

Hey, what are you using to check it? Most things only have 5.1 output. Maybe the speakers are working, they just aren't being given anything to output?!?!?! I think a few new games may have 7.1 output, but i dont know exactly which ones?... You'll have to configure the games to play 7.1 anyway, since they would probably just be on stereo by default.

Maybe try it with onboard sound, and see if that makes a difference.

What rod said.

Make sure the SB Live card supports 7.1.

Set everything to default. Make sure 7.1 is selected in speaker settings. Run through the speaker calibration routine.

Hope this helps!

My Creative inspire 4.1 speakers gave up the ghost recently. All satellite channels just stopped working one day.. My solution.... Demolition Derby + new speakers :) THough you may not want to try that route just yet. Are they under warranty? Try plugging other devices like a Discman or MP3 player into it and see what happens. Ive never tried 7.1.... that's helluva lota speakers. Call me old school. but 2 big ass speakers hooked up a 200W reciever hooked to my computer works just fine for me ;)

Have you tried pluggint the rear speaker input from your speaker cables into the front output jack on your soundcard yet like was suggested in one of your threads on this topic?

I hate people that ask for help and then don't try the ideas people give them....

Take a pic of the back of your computer where you have the plugs going and then I'll help
