nah, well i dunno about the rest of the world, but i quit regarding any of the MSM sources as anything but propoganda a few years ago.. pretty much during the first obama election, and then by the second, it was LONG LONG gone...

even RT, BBC, Al Jazeera.... all western propoganda at this point..

really for actual news it's down to watching twitter feeds/region specific, because i swear, every single story that hits the MSM, i can find it tailored for a specific partisan western idealogy, each respectively from the particular MSM propoganda staton/outlet they caitor to.

Wait, you think that RT is western propaganda? You realize that RT is the virulently anti-west state run propaganda network of the Russian government, right?

That's total nonsense.

I agree that it is Russian state propaganda and not news, but that doesn't change the fact that it's really really anti-west.

You know that even though Russian people speak Russian that they can speak other languages or hire people that do, right?

it's pretty obvious it's meant to be the "sly little anti western" piece of the propoganda tool.. they all carry the same stories at the same time for pete's sake!
i dont think any russians are watching RT (or at least RT that we see)

from the wiki:

RT America focuses on covering the Americas from an international and Russian perspective, being the second most viewed news channel from a foreign perspective, after BBC World News. It currently only broadcasts in the afternoon and evening. Based in RT's Washington, DC Bureau, RT America also has studios in New York, Miami and Los Angeles.[2]

Wait...what? "They all carry the same stories" ...what does that prove exactly? You mean the stories of currently happening world events? That proves nothing.

There is no debate here; RT is state owned by the Russian government. It is, unequivocally, a mouthpiece for Russian propaganda. They are going to report on the same stories (for the most part), with a Russian (government) spin.

Saying it's "all western propaganda" is laughable.

What does any of that have to do with whether RT is anti-west or not? Have you ever watched it?

RT is Russian government propaganda. It is extremely, extremely anti-west.

I watch local news in the morning for the traffic and weather reports while I'm getting ready to go to work. I check several sites on the internet for news Reuters and NPR. Though I have been known to click on the occasional link here.

can cnn repair the damage done?

CNN has had this coming for 25+ years.

I remember back in the 1980s how CNN was running anti-gun programs. They lost a lot of respect back then.

I am surprised it took 2 1/2 decades for their crap to catch up with them.

Its not news, its CNN. I find it amusing that they cover twitter more than the actual news.

CNN’s decision to devote heavy coverage to the missing Malaysia Airlines airplane has paid off with higher viewer numbers, said Brian Stelter, Reliable Sources host, on Sunday’s show.

Stelter noted that in the key 25- to 54-year-old demographic, CNN cable news “total day” viewership grew from 97,000 during the period Dec. 30 to March 6, the day before the plane disappeared, to 196,000 from March 7 to March 26 — more than doubling its audience.

Oh, you mean go out to where people believe in black magic and believe that sex with children will cure them of AIDS?

That you have sifted and found stupidity that fits your preconceptions doesn't mean you've found anything resembling an unbiased source.

So you are saying because CNN ran anti-gun programs in the 80s they are what now?

Have you considered that perhaps its the point of view thats different and theres no slant at all? Let me give you an example.

Take two people and put them on opposite sides of a barn On one end is just...the end of the barn. On the other are the barn doors, which are open, tractors moving in and out, cattle moving in and out, etc. At the end of the day, if you were to ask each person about what they saw, you would get two VERY different stories, even though both saw the same barn. And both of them are right.

The problem with the general public, and moreso with this forum, is if a news story comes from a source other than what WE like, its automatically partisan. Which is, in most cases, incorrect. It IS, in fact, possible, that two different news stories are in fact both correct.

Anyway. Carry on.

nah im much smarter than that...

it's to the point where, the terms "left" and "right"

are doublespeak... like did you know that in ukraine right now.... it's the 'liberals' trying to set up workable government according to RT... the "right sector" is alligned with the russian special ops???? apparently

you wanna know what's really happenening??? check some twitters, use some twitter tools to show you what's actually being tweeted in mass, from where... and you'll see what's REALLY happening, is that there is a group of actual russian special ops, who have destabilized the entire region in the north of ukraine..now they'll use the propoganda machine to twist EVERYTHING out of proportion, and when it's done, it will be a russian occupation via some mercenaries..........eventually leading to an actual occupation of the north, just like in Crimea..

it just blows my mind that there are people out there, actively, attaching these actions to an idealogy.. when it's so basic, it's simple, destablization, invasion, occupation.. the MEDIA TOOL LETS THEM MAKE IT LOOK DIFFERENTLY.
