Can Classic A7V (kt133) run 1.4 using 133 FS?

hi, guys

I have a classic A7V (kt133) and a new Althon 1.4 (266) cpu. My motherboard allows me to adjust the frontside side speed all the way to 143 (increments by 1). I was wondering if I set the memory to 133 and the frontside speed to 133 can I use this new 1.4 cpu I have. Or will it not boot at all since the cpu is a 266 version? Thanks

I suggest to uptdate the mobo BIOS first. By default this mobo will recognize every socket A processor with max 12.5 multiplier max FSB133(266) with synchronous SDRAM max 133 or VCRAM133. This means that you must have PC133 compatible memory to run CPU with FSB133(266). So u will be able to put into your socket, max. Athlon XP 1.67Ghz (133x12.5) 2000+ withowt any problem, and for the 1.4Ghz 133FSB CPU it will be just fine.

Unless you are speaking of a kt133a board (note the A at the end), I highly doubt it will be capable of running 133MHz fsb... my old A7V would crap out at anything over 110 MHz.

The chipset does not pocess the right dividers for the AGP and PCI buses @ a FSB speed of 133MHz. With luck you will get about 110-112MHz out of the FSB.
