Can CAS timing be mixed in 2 gb dual channel DDR400

I'm presently using OCZ 1gb (2x512mb) value rams in my mobo (see AMD sig), slot 1, and 3. I just bought another OCZ 1gb (2x512mb), though not quite value but a bit better timing. I do not intend to o/c my rams. Here are the questions:

A) Can I install them all onto the mobo for extra 2gb then move one without worry no more?

B) Should I remove the value rams, install the new 1gb better timng rams and be happy with 1gb and a bit faster timing?

If I chose A option for 2gb size. Would that cause any conflict that may wreck havoc my rig later on due to two different timings that are in the two pairs.

From what I hear, theoretically, Ram should down-clock in timing to the slowest of the modules. It's generally advised that you not mix Ram especially sizes, but since you aren't running in dual channel. It may work. I mixed two VS512MB DDR400 with one CAS3 and one CAS2.5, and it will only run at DDR333, but this is dual channel. You could just put them all in and see how it goes, just make sure to Memtest them a couple times (overnight is what people recomment) to check for errors.

That faster stuff will down-clock to match the slower stuff.

If they don't play nice together may have to play with timings some more.

If you don't wanna risk damaging any data on your HD, disconnect it and run memtest overnight.

Otherwise, I don't see what it could hurt to install all the ram.
