can c533 o/c to 800?

i am trying to up grade my other cumputer, 8x multiplier only.
no way to get a c533a, but c533 is still available, anybody have tried o/c c533 to 800,
please post. thx.

Uh a 533a has an 8X multiplier... also the multiplier does not matter to the board it is locked by the chip (which also controlls this no matter what the board is set to) In other words use an "a" processor or 566 and up and enjoy... The older .25 celerons were luck to make 600mhz air cooled some with peltiers ran almost 700mhz & maybe a couple of them made 700+ but not many...

my m/b supports up to 8x only, no bios update available.
just wanted to make sure the possiblity of c533 can be o/c to 800.
i have tried putting a c566 to this m/b, it works fine at 8.5x83, not 100.

it doesn't matter what muiltiplyer your motherboard supports, as long as it can support the right voltage, it's fine. have you tried more voltage with the 566, does it boot at 100 mhz bus??? what slotlet are you using?

a 533a will probably run at 800. I've got one that does sitting next to me (upgraded to 950) selling my old one. Matter of fact the 533a i got runs at 840-860 mghz totally stable.

you are screwed big time. hehe, you can't o/c a 533 at all, but the 533a goes to 800+ easy possibly even higher with pc 133ram🙂 Also, a 533a is faster then a 533 at the same clock speed anyways, 533=p2 533a=p3

can't you just order from online? shipping might be a tad more.. that or get a 566, common and same or less for cost. 850mhz almost garranteed.

You gotta be kidding me.. 85mhz bus for a 566? Everyone i know with that chip gets it up to 850+, you must have bad cooling(use a golden orb) or too low voltage. I have mine at 2.0v which is pretty maxed out but completely stable. Others are luckier obviously.. but 85mhz bus cripples your chip and overclocks your pci/agp pretty bad.

the c566 is working good with my bh6 m/b.566@850 1.9v, i just take it to see my other cheap m/b can work with it, this cheapy can't change core vcc, in cpu setting , the speed i get is 8x 83 or lower. no update available. may be i should try flash the bios from other company, any ideas?

no, don't flash with a foreign bios. I think your pretty screwed with the cheap motherboard.. i see now that you are hoping the 533a will run default voltage at 800mhz, this is rare. many 533a's require 1.7 or higher too😛 best to toss the m/b or get used to default clock speed.

by the way the cheapy is now with a c300a@450, 4.5x100, using the b21 trick, in manual cpu setting it has 100, 103, 112, 133 and multiplier to choose up to 8x.
when i put the c566 with the slotket, in manual setting put it at max 8x ,i don't see 100 or higher, but 83 and lower. i think this cause by the limitation of the multiplier.

does that means the iwill slotket can override the manual speed setting from the bios.
if yes, would like to get one to test it out.

The slocket overides the information the cpu sends the mobo. It does not overide manual setings you set in the bios.

i am confused now.

1) my cheapy m/b has no core vcc setting and support up to 8x multiplier right???
2) if i use a slotket from iwill, msi or abit.
3) c566 have a 8.5 locked multiplier, right?

now my question is putting 1,2 and 3 together, can it be o/c to 850????
