About a year ago I made a system for a friend with an Asus A7V and Athlon 1.1Ghz (100mhz Fsb)

I don't know what is the maximum it will accept but I do know that it wont accept 133 Fsb Cpu. For 133 Fsb cpus you would need the Asus A7v133 that has the kt133A chipset.

you will need to flash to one of the newer bios's (anything 1007 or newer will work)

in jumperfree mode the a7v will run the 1.4(200) athlon (but for it to run at 1.4ghz it has to actually be the 1.4 (200) cpu)

otherwise it only run up to 1.3ghz (with new newer bios mentioned above use the manual and set the jumpers at 12.5x, this has been remapped to 13x)
so it can run any cpu either default 1.3ghz or overclock a cpu to 1.3ghz

my current server is an a7v running a 1.0ghz at 1.3ghz by way of 13x100mhz fsb

*** edit *** i said jumpers above but i meant set the multiplier at 12.5x by way of the dipswitchs

FYI I'm presently using a 1.33/266 T-Bird at 13x100=1300 Mhz. I have abused this board badly and it's stll going very strong and surprisingly stable.

This is what I'm waiting for, the Soyo Dragon + Ultra based on the KT333A, AIW Radeon R300, AMD XP2000+ or XP2200+ with a Thoroughbred .13 micron core, it will have a core voltage of 1.60 volts which is going to be much cooler. Two Maxtor 6L080L4 80.0 GB in Raid setup. and my Maxtor 54098H8 40 GB and 5T030H3 30 GB on the IDE as backups disks.

Hopefully this should be official before the end of Q2 and widely available in Q3.

The A7V was a great board.... With BIOS 1007 and later, they will support 1.3 and 1.4 Tbirds... I would recommend running BIOS 1008. 1009 hosed quite a few boards...
