Can ASPIRIN really save you during a heart attack?

Just saw a commercial for Bayer and how it has enough aspirin to save your life during a heart attack. Is this true? I had no idea.

yep it does
I however take it to up my heart rate.

If taken at the first signs of heart attack or stroke it can buy you the time you need to get to the hospital and get the thrombolytic that will save your life. By itself it won't save you, but it buys you the time you need to get help.
