For the love of all things sacred. Llike what this forum USED to be, before they injected tons of problems with an "upgrade".
The problem I am refering to is the BrokenAT thing. Its happens most all the time at both my work and home computers and is VERY annoying. This is my favorite forum by far, but I already find myself using it less and less because of all the problems. Especiallly that one.

This place crashes like crazy on my work comp with IE6. Due to the lack of admin privileges at work, I don't have the option of patching/upgrading it.
BUT, and this may help others - I am able to use Portable Firefox at work without any problems.

My IE install (7) is so hosed Java causes all kinds of lockups. I have Vista so I can't even uninstall it. :|

I use FF, Opera and the soon to be discontinued, Netscape. They all work fine on the forums.

Java lockups at the AT Forums? AFAIK we have zero Java-driven stuff here, unless the RBN is sneaking Java exploits into our advertiser's content (which is a possibility).

At any rate, I'm using IE7 on Vista here, UAC enabled, Protected Mode enabled (a default setup, IOW), and have no problems using the Forums. However, I don't have Java installed, since I have no actual uses for Java at present, and am aware that the bad guys do have uses for it.

Scoobyd00, upgrade your home system to IE7 (assuming you have at least WinXP). Run an antivirus and antispyware scan (link) and run the Secunia PSI and fix (or remove) as much stuff as possible. Ask your I.T. people at work to update IE to IE7. Don't attempt to run portable apps without permission from the I.T. department, as that is distinctly taboo  If you'd rather use a different browser, you should still upgrade from IE6 to IE7 for security reasons anyway.
