Keep the fruit separate from the nuts until close to eating time or the moisture from the fruit will soak into the nuts making them go stale.

hmmm, interesting, never heard of this.. all of the fruit is already dried to the point of preservation though.

Most trail mix doesen't have seperate compartments and tell you to "mix before eating". :p

I've always liked dried bananas. They're little slices that taste so good.

I was thinking chex of some variety, I've always thought trail mix needed Beef Jerky. It depends on how you eat the "mix", I pick through and eat one thing at a time

how about baked apple chips? I'm pretty sure Trader Joe's sells them. They're pretty good, too.
