Three days ago: Alphathree asks Girlthree (
) to dinner on wednesday. Girlthree says will confirm later this week.
[ Girlthree and Alphathree have been particularly close lately ]
Earlier today: She calls, I get excited... we talk for a few minutes, she wants to know who's on ICQ because she can't log on. Hmm, no problem I say, and I read off the names. Then I ask why she would want to know such a thing. She's looking for someone's phone number and wanted to know who was online that could give it to her.
Well it takes me all of 0.5 seconds to look it up on Canada411 and I give it to her. Now I'm *expecting* that at this point she would mention something about the fact that we're supposed to be going to dinner tomorrow night (I'm not going to mention it -- I don't want to feel pushy). Nope. Thanks, bye.
This disheartens me -- there's little question of interest between the two of us, it's just sometimes she plays mind games. She plays mind games a lot, actually. Most everything she does is calculated.
So I've had a few hours to let some ideas toss around in my head. She really did forget, or she's playing mind games? Why would she call me for a phone number? If she can't log on to ICQ, why would it matter to her who's online? Why call on the night that she was supposed to confirm, and then not even mention it?
