can anyone tell me why i have to enter a password when i didn't set it .......

on the network?

i set up ics on both computer running win xp and share all folder
and drive with no restriction or need any password but when i try to
access the other computer i have to put a password, why is that?

or is there a utility, regedit,and need to disable to do?

Check if you have not accidentally switched off "Simple File Sharing" : open explorer, under the Tools menu select "Folder Options" and then the "View" tab. Scroll all the way to the bottom and make sure that the checkbox next to "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)" is checked. If it is not, then you will be promted for a userid/password to access your shared disks.

Also you state "i set up ics on both computer" and that is not correct either : you set up ICS on 1 computer so that the other can use the Internet Connection of the first one. If you enable ICS on both, then XP will firewall off the network interface that it considers to be on the internet. On the machine that does have the internet connection, XP will "do the right thing", on the other one it will consider the ethernet interfade as "the internet" and block all incoming traffic...
