Can anyone tell me if the specs on this tv are worth it.

I understand the money part. But I am just wondering on the technical side what the pluses and minus' are. Anyones help would be greatly appreciated. The tv has a 12 ms response time.

With a 12ms reponse time, I think you'd be hard pressed to see any ghosting. People obsess far too much over response time and ghosting IMHO anyway.

Well .. I use a MUCH cheaper 27inch LCD as a monitor for games and for TV. Mine has a 25ms response time, and I can see the shadowing a little bit, but it's nothing I'd complain about.

My only gripe about mine, is that even though it supports 1080i, It won't support interlaced 1920x1080 via it's DVI port. (Highest I can use it as a monitor for is 1280x768, which isn't too bad for games, but not so great for general usage)

This is a SLIGHTLY higher native resolution.
One thing that is going to be a pain in the arse for you, is that you will have to use Hacks and/or Custom resolutions in games (many don't officially support widescreen resolutions, but often there are tricks that can get the games to work widescreen)

The difference between 8 bit DAC and 10 bit DAC for color is noticable, and 10 bit will look nice. The contrast ratio on that is good for an LCD (though perhaps just because I'm thinking in 6 month ago LCD technology)

Anyone have any info on a more technical side?

Thanks for everyone who has replied thus far.

(edit) Sorry didnt see the post before this one before I posted. Good info thanks.

spend about 500 more and get one of the new 37 inch westinghouse 1080P models. They are getting pretty good review on avsforum..

To Burnit dwn

In the the coming months the xbox 360 and the playstation 3 will support 16:9 in every game and every game on the 360 will be standard 720p or above, and on the playstation it will support up to 1080p. Just thought you should know.

Black levels are not very good on LCDs. In HDTV it's really noticeable I think (and future hi-res console games). For monitor it is good though.

Yea, I wasn't thinking about consoles at all only the PC.
You have a very good point.

Native resolution on that is only 1366x768, so it can't even fully resolve a 1920x1080 image. 26" is pretty small too as far as TVs go. Seems like its priced way too high.

since it's 26" wide, keep in mind that 4:3 content is only 21" unless you stretch it.
just something to keep in mind.
