Can anyone tell how to make ntpd work on my linux machine?

I have it installed and it's running on a Red Hat 7.0 box. The RPM is the newest version. I'm just having trouble understanding how to get this thing to connect to the time server and update my clock on my machine. If anyone knows of a good website or anything or can explain it all to me I would appreciate it. I've been to ntp.org and I don't really find their documentation helpful.
