Can anyone teach me about how to control music Equalizers?

I know there are 10 bars, but which ones are bass, and which ones are treble? i've always used presets, and i want to do some fine tuning on my own. thanks.

usually, the left is low frequencies, right is high.
each thingy controls a separate band of frequencies.

i find that towards the higher frequencies, i can't hear much of a difference. the last two bars are pretty hard to hear. i'm pretty sure i don't have the greatest equipment though. either that or my 16 year old ears have been blasted to death. woohoo, right now my music sounds pretty damn good.

See, here's the thing about setting equalizers: You don't need somebody to teach it to you. Just move the toggles 'til you get what sounds good to you. How you hear it is all that matters anyhow.

yeah 21, i guess i didn't really realize that until today. i began to fiddle with the settings after i posted this topic.
