Can anyone take a look at my Speedfan labels?

I know the uppermost is my CPU, Primary HD is my only HD, and GPU is GPU and Ambient is ambient. but what are Temp2, Temp3, and Core? for the life of me I can't seem to figure them out... there's also a Temp1 (hidden in the pic), but it's a constant 40c

I have an ASUS M2nPV-VM motherboard with Geforce 6150 for the northbridge and an nForce 410/430 MCP for the south bridge with Phoenix Tech BIOS

thanks for any help

Sometimes it's hard to figure out those readings on some things.
On my "Temp3", it's -127! hehehe
I believe, but not certain, that some of those readings are your motherboard (chipset?) temps. Go into "Configure" on the main screen & see if that helps you figure some of the others out.
That 9c reading I think i'd disregard...uncheck it in the settings...there's nothing in your case that's 9c.

What CPU are you using?

And I doubt anything in your computer is truly 9 degrees C.

download prime95 and coretemp.

there's 2 cpu temp sensors, 1 is a kinda generic cpu temp (for me it's temp 1), and the other is internal to the processor, Tcase (k8 or core). this is the one i'm interested in. enable temp 1 for now. check if there are any specific settings that need to be applied (mostly temperature offset, there may be more like thermistor/diode) for your cpu, motherboard, chipset or sensor chip. i don't bother with the profiles available for download. yes, there's some trial and error.

run coretemp at the same time as speedfan. if any needed offset has been applied to either, there will be a speedfan reading that matches coretemp to about 1 degree.

run prime95 for about 5 minutes. the highest line on the chart should be the internal sensor, and should match coretemp. the second highest line is the generic sensor, and can be ignored.

the remaining sensors, if active, are reading parts of the motherboard. this varies wildly from board to board, and there's little if any information.

try toggling some of the sensor settings to see if there's a change. if there's no change at all or it's just nonsense, it can be safely ignored.

this process needs to be repeated with the fans, and then you can set W fan to spin at X % when sensor Y hits temp Z.

ok about that 9c sensor.... I checked it today after getting up and it went all the way up to 16c. still, a bit too low for anything in my computer. what might it be?

whats ur system specs? my VCORE 2 = DDR2 Voltage. yours says 3.15v, i'd worry... my ram is rated for 2.2v and my speedfan vcore2 says 2.19

my ram voltage is at 1.8v right now...

Speedfan says my +12V line is running at 2.5V. Not everything is perfectly accurate.

Your BIOS should report all sensors and voltages on its monitor page - write them down and then match with your generic health software. SF may be reading a port that isn't even a temp sensor on your particular mobo. Or you can use the monitor software that came with your mobo to find out what reading goes with what - it should be preconfigured for your mobo. For most there should be no need to use the generic stuff.

i know SF isn't accurate in reading voltages, just seemed that my Vcore2 Voltages were somewhat right and his were way off @ 3.18, maybe something to worry about...

my 12v rail is at 9.41 in SF also lol..
