Can anyone suggest a good radar detector?

I'm in the market for one and I've looked around, I almost bought a Cobra last night, but then I remembered there must be a few speed demons in ATOT! ;) Any suggestions? I'd prefer something light on the wallet, but if it means spending a few extra bucks for more features then I don't mind. Thanks.

What is your price cut-off?

You do realize that if you get one you'll get more speeding tickets cause you'll feel compelled to speed and ther eis damn near NO way that you'll get a warning when pulled over right? :)

You have to go with only the best...sure its $300, but they pay your ticket if you get one. VALENTINE 1...its what I have in my SI, saved me a helluva lot of times.

Yeah I wanted to mention V1 also. It's the bee's knee. THe cat's meow. I'd consider one, but like I said I'd likely get more tickets.

Yea, my V1 has saved me a bunch of times, but I went from absolutely no tickets before the V1 to 3 after. Since they cover the ticket it still helps, as long as you don't mind paying the increase in insurance ;).

better buy one of the high end ones quick. They will probably be pulled from the market soon. I read somewhere that the signal interupts CC transactions at gas stations and other places that communicate with their front offices via satellite. I'll try to find a link. I think they already had to sop making them, but there are still plenty on the market.

Edit: here is one link.

What version of the Valentine is the latest? I know they've been updating it for years... Last I heard they were on v1.1

I'd prefer to spend a maximum around $150. The V-1 is nice, but way out of my price range.

I bought a Cobra ESD-6200 (2000 model) 6-band off eBay for $45 about a year and half ago and it has saved my butt COUNTLESS times. I love it. Definitly recommend it, but I'll be selling it as soon as I can afford a Valentine One (probably not for awhile!).

If I had $150 to spend, I seriously wouldn't bother. Bank that money, double it and then some, and get the V1 with the concealed display module..

And never forget to pay attention.
