I have a toshiba satellite and would like to upgrade my memory ...

I am very familiar with building desktop PC but I am lost upgrading my laptop memory ... duhhh ...

How to do it ? Where is the memory ?
I only have 32 MB of memory and I know one more slot is available to add memory.

Do I have to open the case?

Also, what is a good & cheap memory to purchase for this laptop ? (P233 system)

Any help will be appreciated.

Most laptops are different. Generally, if you look at the bottom of the laptop, there will be a small panel that you should be able to unscrew. This is where you stick the ram. If you have a wierd laptop, like me, you'll have to open up the case...which is rather scary as its all proprietary in there and look for it. Crucial is not the cheapest, but they ship the memory with instructions, at least they did for my roomate, and you'll be sure to get the right sodimm for the computer.

Thanks for the info.

I opened up the little spacing underneath my laptop and I am only able to disconnect the hard drive.

I still can't see the RAM ... it could be inside the case .. 🙁 anyone have satellite?
