Nightwish - Last of the Wilds

This sounds nothing like any of Nightwish's other songs. I have been unable to find anything that sounds like this. Any recommendations?

(Please listen to it before recommending stuff, it doesn't sound like Nightwish's typical music)

Their newest CD has instrumental versions of all the songs on it - special edition CD.

That might be what this one is from since there are no vocals.

Sounds like celtic music played with a rock background. i've got tons of great celtic music and tons of great rock/metal but i'm not sure i have anything or much of anything that mixes the 2. I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

Same here. If you don't need the drums and electric guitar to enjoy it, you might like Joemy Wilson - "Carolan's Cottage" (instrumental acoustic, slower but sweet and sometimes intense)

Lost Horizon is a good recommendation, also look for Suidakra, a german metal band that writes and plays alot of Celtic themed stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions. Drums and guitar are not need by any means. The upbeat celtic sound is what I'm interested in.

Hmm Skyclad might be another good one for you. Also, ever consider some of Enya's stuff?

I have listened to some of Enya's stuff. Its been very soft and relaxing. I'm looking for more energetic stuff.

AnonymouseUser's link is exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for as far as energy and basic celtic-y sound goes.

Did you try putting that in Pandora?

edit: Also you can see what artists last.fm finds similar to that one (but I've personally had better luck with Pandora)

Last.fm and Pandora both gave me symphonic metal similar to Nightwish's normal music, which is why I asked here. Neither service did a good job with the individual song's characteristics.

The albums Songs From the Woods and Heavy Horses by Jethro Tull have a similar sound. If you just want Celtic stuff there is a ton of stuff out there.
