Expensive, but worth it. I have one paired with a Logitech Optical Wheelmouse, works beautifully. Mine doesn't have the bright orange rubber, though, mine's black. Black is good.

I just bought a Logitech Optical Mouse because my old mouse died (weep weep). I just use a El Cheepo Deluxe black pad that I take everywhere with my laptop. Best set-up ever! I will be changing all of my mice at haom as well.

Another vote for the RATPADZ!
Surface 1030 is a slick one too, but when i came down to it, i liked the Ratpad a tad bit better
 
They work well with Optical mouse too. I use a Intellimouse Explorer and Logitech WheelMouse on it (both optical mouse).
