Can anyone recommend any good electronics books (building circuits and such)?

Hey everyone. I'm becoming interested in designing my own circuits and doing electronics work, and I'm wondering if anyone could recommend any good books to me. I'd like to learn to read electrical schematics, and then be presented with some example schematics of circuits that I could build without too much trouble. I'd like to start with some pretty simple stuff, parts that I could buy at RadioShack for a decent amount of money. If anyone could recommend any books to me, that'd be great. Thanks.

I like 'The Art of Electronics', by Horowitz and Hill. Pretty good books

Radio shack use to have these little notebooks by some guy named Mims.
they covered seperate areas like Ac/DC, Op-Amps, Timers, etc.

"The Art of Electronics" is an excellent book. So is "Microelectronic Circuits" by Sedra and Smith. Both excellent books but require a basic knowledge of electronics/circuit analysis if its going to be any useful.

The Art of Electronics looks like a good book, but I don't think that's really where I want to start. It's a $70 book and it's over 1100 pages...I'm looking for something a little more simple, because I just want to try this type of thing out and see how much I like doing it. I'm looking for more of an introductory book.

If your talking circuit analysis, try "Basic Engineering Circuit Analysis" and "Introduction to digital logic design"

its a good book, lots of good info, tons of math and circuit basics/fundamentals
just finished doing my hw in it, inductance and capacitance is so fun!
