Can anyone recommend any free logic design programs out there?

I'm looking for something particularly like the xilinx schematic editor. I have a circuit diagram that I want to simulate to see if it will actually work before building it. Any suggestions?

I think that you can do that in the free version of Pspice form microsim. Another option is to use hdl code and use modelSim both programs have a free student edition.

Seconded on PSPice (althoug we use Orcad's PSpice here), I haven't done much VHDL but we use Max+Plus II for PLD design.
