Can anyone recommend an entry level printer ($100 or less)?

Looking to get a basic printer, mainly for text, but I know nothing about them. Any help would be appreciated.

Sup man, I just bought a great printer today for $99. It's the Canon S300 bubblejet printer. It's nice, small, compact, and has amazing text output for its price. It's highly recommended, and the ink costs are dirt cheap ($7 for black cartridge.)

Yes, the entry level Canons are quite good. They don't have the single-ink technology, but ink prices are still reasonable. They also are surprisingly sturdy for that price range, Epson's and particularly HP's offerings in that price range are much flimsier. If you don't need the S300's speed, you can shave another $20 off and get the S200. This one uses the same inks, doesn't go quite as high on the resolution, and is slower. 2880x720 still makes for excellent text though.

Thanks for the info, guys. I got the S330 (S300's replacement?) at Best Buy for $100. Am quite happy with it.

What ink cart does the S300/330 use? My S600 uses the BCI-3E and I've founnd a place that sells carts for half price as opposed to retail.

Cheers,
Aquaman

Oh, man, you're speaking Greek to me. I know less than nothing about ink cartridges. But if you know a place to get them cheap, I'm all ears.

The S200 and S300 don't use these BCI-3 separate inks, they use one BCI24Bk black ink tank and a BCI24C three-color tank.

regards, Peter
