Can anyone recommend a vga converter device?

I'm looking for a device to hook up my dvd player, game console etc to my lcd monitor. It has vga/dvi input only. Anyone have experience with a good model?

I see all these cheap 40-60 dollar devices but according to most reviews, they dont give me any confidence.
 
What console? The converters are all pretty bad, PC to TV or TV to PC...due to the difference of refresh rates in the source (TV is 59.9Hz) so you get frame skipping not to mention quality degredation...

Unless the "console" you have is a PS2, then you might as well sell it and get a PS3, covers all angles, PS3/PC combo is pretty awesome with a lcd monitor.
