Can anyone recommend a program or site to help me build a generic webpage?

I need a simple website to advertise my business and provide a little information. Just something with a cool graphic in the background, an interesting font and a decent color scheme. Can anyone recommend a program to help me build something like that in about a half hour's time?

Here's a link to a site with a layout that I'd like to emulate: http://www.civicinfo.com/civic_services.htm

I really like the color scheme and the text and graphics at the top of page are cool too.

Also does anyone know of a free hosting site?

Well you should look into XHTML/CSS tutorials, which can be google searched, there are tons of sites out there with that information. That particular site is built with tables which is pretty much on the out, so don't look to their source to learn if you want to stay standards compliant for the future. There are also tons of free graphics and/or templates out there for your new site, which a google search will also cover. As far as hosting, check the sticky at the top of OT, dartworth is offering free hosting, you'll just have to go to Namecheap or Godaddy to buy up your domain name.

First register a domain from anyone of the registrars out there or use a subdomain (see next item).

Then get some free webhosting here (also provides subdomain).

Then get a design you like here.

Any further help see here and here

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, especially for the link to the OSWD.org. Tons and tons of great layouts on that site, in fact my biggest problem is trying to decide which one you use.

I have 2 new questions now though :p

Is there a way to easily create a text logo? Or is there a site with logo layouts that can be tweaked or edited?

How can I resize and insert a picture or logo into a website design?
