Can anyone recommend a good wheel stand for a Driving Force GT?

I just got a Driving Force GT from eBay and am looking for a good stand to mount it on since my PlayStation 3 is in my den and I game from my couch. I don't have a suitable table to mount it to, so I need something.

I'm wondering if I should just go simple with one of these to use on my counch that I saw on eBay for around $99:

Or if I should go all out and get something like this from Amazon for around $150 (I have about $200 from credit card points that I can use at Amazon.com or BestBuy):

I'm probably gonna upgrade to a G25 later on down the road, so I want something that's gonna last.

Or do you guys have any other recommendations?
 
I have a driving force GT. Can I ask a question. WHen you start up the game and it aligns itself, when it is turning to the right side does it pause a little bit then turn all the way. It only does this when turning to the right, it doesn't do it when turning to the left side. So does yours do this?
 
You could always just do what I did and build your own. This cost me about $30 bucks in a sheet of MDF. I actually only used one half of the sheet, so I could build two of them.

I just have to paint it next, I think I nice coat of Ferrari Red might do 🙂

I just bought Forza 3 + MS Wheel on Friday and saw these in one of the video reviews. Guess it just comes down to how much you want to spend and whether or not you can build your own. Game Racer Elite would be nice though.
