As topic explains. I have plans to sell my Dell D600 and get an ultraportable laptop - yes, I know the D600 is small and light, but I need to sell this and buy a cheaper laptop - i need the cash!

Something less than $1000, could be used or refurbished. Links would be helpful too. Thanks a million!

Yep and he missed out TWICE.

Doubtful. Unless they want to create month-long lead times by annoucing a new HOT deal right after the last one, they'll just ride out the holiday season with their normal pricing at a time of the year when they don't need to heavily discount to sell computers.
 
Try to find a used Dell Latitude x200. I've got one and you just can't beat the portability. I think mine weighs in at 2.7lbs.
 
You're not going to find an ultraportable laptop for less than $1000 unless it's another crazy fire sale or you buy it from the back of a truck. At the price range that you're looking for, you're stuck with the 7 pound SOHO systems.
