Question-

I am looking at getting RE6 pretty when it's released and I would like to play it on my TV. My PC is the office next to my living room and I will be running a long HDMI cable to the TV. Does anyone have a suggestion on what controller to use? I am thinking a bluetooth controller? I don't have a XBOX 360 or PS3.

Bluetooth doesnt have the same range or battery life (for long term use) as a traditional RF setup with either mouse or game pad.

Get a regular wireless Xbox 360 controller with the USB dongle. It will work great and last a long time.

Please note, you need to install the controller software and some people here think thats a hassle.

I think most people buy the wireless receiver off ebay, because you can't find them in retail. Almost all the ones up on ebay are knock-offs and not genuine Microsoft hardware. The one I bought was and I had no idea till I got it.

The knock-offs aren't recognized by Windows automatically so you have to manually go into device manager and install the wireless receiver driver to get them to work.

I haven't tried it with a full wooden wall blocking, sorry to say. I live in a studio so everything's big open space, but it works with about 20 ft away with no obstructions for me.

The software is just plug and play. It's a microsoft product so windows 7 supports this natively.

If anything amazon is pretty good with returns, so if it doesn't work with the wall blocking you can just return it. Just open the package carefully. :)

Yeah I purchased a lotta junk over the years not sure if I would like it. Amazon has always been good to me.
Plus it puts something under their Used tab so someone else can benefit from a clean, working item at a lower price.

What's wrong with a corded xbox 360 controller? No batteries, no receiver, no hassle. $30 and done.

I personally like the PS3 controllers, they're good controllers, they work via BT with supported USB BT dongles, and using the motionjoy 3rd party drivers work for the PC, they even have Xbox emulation mode which allows you to emulate the 360 controller so it works with all Xbox360 controller enabled games.

You have to do this every time you plug the dongle in also (if you remove it for whatever reason), but for $7 (what I got mine for), it isn't a big deal.
