i have taken "physics 2" meaning i know the equations and junk.

but i have no idea how to use those components (exaggeration).

by the time i graduate, i will know, since i am an EE major, but right now, i know next to nothing. in fact, nothing is sitting right next to me. (say hi to nothing people).

so, can anyone recommend a good book to learn from?

i am asking for a practical book, not as much as a text book. de\soldering techniques is good, and how to mount stuff on PCBs and junk. as well as identifying what various parts are (resistors, varistors, inductors, conductors, pots, and stuff, you know stuff) and how to use them properly.

specifically, this is for voltage and ampere manipulation required for "fanbus" creation which is what i am doing right now to my computer.

but i'd also want to learn how to do stuff with parts.
