I was looking at the xp-120 and a 120 mm fan, but the total would be near 80 bucks for a hs + f + thermal paste. Anyone know a good QUIET, cheap HS and F thats better than stock? Thanks

Since it and the XP-90 are sold without a fan, this is entirely dependent on what fan you choose for it. A Zalman is a more cost-effective alternative (those include fans) that's nearly as good.

Zalman 7000 AL-CU sells for $29 + shipping. Best bang for the buck hands down.

For only $5 more you can get the 7000B-AlCu - link - which is an improved design from the 7000A which you linked to.

I think an XP 90 w/ a fan of your choice would be cheaper and cool almost as well as the xp 120 and better that pretty much everything else out there.

Why post if all you can suggest is two $40 heatsinks?

I guess newegg only has about 10 cheap Athlon 64 heatsinks, but still. Even the Silent Boost K8 is only $35 delivered. The $18 Arctic Cooling one is really nice if you're not overclocking.

$11.48, 21dB: http://www.newegg.com/app/View...description=35-106-604

$18.48, silent: http://www.newegg.com/app/View...description=35-185-110

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/...jsp?ProductCode=316350 ($10) or http://www.newegg.com/app/Sear...t.asp?Submit=Go&DEPA=0 ($7.60 + $5 shipping which comes out to more than 10$) also from ZZF u get free 2day fedex. Thats the cheapest you'll probably find it, unless anyone else cares to check out some other prices ;o

i bought that compound and used it with the zalman i linked earlier (7000B AlCu w/LEDS) and i hope for some good results.

havent received my motherboard yet so i'll be putting together my system Monday if all goes well! HopefulLY! :)

dont forget that you have to add in the shipping costs which makes it more than 10$ at that store too lol. also even if you went with that and paid 6$ + $4 for the cheapest ground service its the same price as ZZF and they offer it for $9.99 with FREE 2DAY FEDEX :)

its silly how much they charge for shipping on an item thats soo small. =/
