something that will copy "filename.extension" to a certain location, and keep copying it as "filename1.extension", "filename2.extension" and so on

I don't want this to stop copying the file until it has filled up all 74GB of the drive...i need to send it back to the manufacturer, and i want all the bytes to me overwritten ;)

Just wipe the drive several times.

Oh, and if you're serious about this, google dban. That's the ONLY way to permadelete.

Do I boot up with that? the drive i want to erase isn't the primary one...it's a secondary drive

Yes, if I'm not mistaken you do. Disconnect the primary for safety whenever performing a wipe operation.

In the future, use PGP 7.0 (pgpi.org) to delete files, then wipe free space from time to time. It doesnt affect your current files, and its a windows program, so no need to boot with a floppy.

Just low level format the damn thing. Its not hard.

That way the drive will have zero's written to all sectors.
