Can anyone predict when the prices will go down?

I need some predictions. I've been wanting to get a new CPU, maybe an A64 or Athlon XP for awhile now. I should have bought the XP 2500 when it was $60-$70, but I hesitated. The prices for most of the CPUs have been pretty steady within the last few months. I'm hoping for a price drop soon. Can anyone tell me when they think the prices will go back down?

So suggests a DigiTimes report, which says that the chip giant will drop the prices of its 2.8GHz P4s - one with HyperThreading support, the other without - to $178 and $163, respectively, the same prices it currently charges for the 2.6GHz P4s.
The cuts represent falls of 18.5 per cent and 15.5 per cent, respectively.

Thanks for the replies. So I guess I'll be waiting a little bit longer. But I do agree with CSADDICT. Right when I buy it, the prices will go way down. One of Murphy's Law?

Well, I got my Athlon64 3000+ the first day for $215. Now it is at $229. For the first time ever, I might have made a good deal. But then again, what happens on Feb 2-6 or Mid April ?? I will let you know April 30th, but I don't really care anyway, because I get to play with it in the meantime !!! Unles the price drops $75 by the end of April I got my moneys worth anyway.
