Hi, i have two antec ks-282 cases. I thought it would be cool if i paint them silver. Which type of paint should i use and should it be in spray cans? Also, i saw a great deal on pw on a 11"x14" acrylic do it yourself window case with all the molding and epoxy for $8 shipped. Is that any good? Also, can a acrylic panel be cut to reshape, lets say make the corners round? Add a cc for $8 and this will be a good newbie case mod for < $20!

I just painted my case midnight blue following this guide. it took a while but I love the results. It turned out pretty good,

kicka$$ paint job

I didn't buy a window kit, just went to lowes and picked up a big sheet of acrylic. wish i had gotten lexan. I heard it's a lot easier to work with. but acrylic wasn't that bad, thanks to my dremel. cut, round, whatever you want.

oh and my first attemp to glue down the door was using "50 ton" epoxy, didn't work, lasted about 2 days. I accidentally hit the window(not hard) and the corner came right off the panel. took 10 secs to prey the entire window off.

second and successful attemp was using Sillicone II from homedepot. so far so good. when the silicone cures, it's not rock hard like epoxy, I can't really explain it, but it worked.

anyway, I'm not a expert or anything, just some guy who had too much time on his hands. hope this helps.

ps: i didn't use molding for the window either.

Do you think molding makes a window look better or improves the quality of a window in anyway? Very nice article, i probably will use it. Thank you.

in my situation, if I had molding around the window, I can no longer use the epoxy or sillicone, because of the big 'ol gap between the window glass and the panel. I have seen ppl use the molding and then either rivet, bolt or 3m double sided sticky thingys.

I don't know my gf said it'd be cool if I had chrome moldings, but whatever, it's done and over with.

About how much would a large ( 12x16 " or larger) lexan panel be at lowes, would i be much cheaper than a $8 11x14" acrylic window kit?

Excellent link! I just started painting my case today and I'm using this guy's advice. Thanks!
