OMG they use to play this song at work all the time but I can't remember what the announcer said the name was.. Like Christmas seriebo (spelling) or something like that.

dunno...but i saw TSO on the Donny and Marie Osmond show back a couple of years ago. I've been meaning to buy the CD, but completely forgot about them. They are truly amazing.

No no, that is not Metallica.. Metallica tried to "steal" the idea when they played with an orchestra. The true original one is a collaboration between TSO and Savatage, another metal band. You should be able to find this song in their (Savatage's) album "Dead winter dead".

I highly doubt they ever played with Metallica. TSO is a side project created by a couple of members of the metal band Savatage and some songwriter/producer (I think his name is Paul O'Neill).

Metallica did not steal the idea. Rock bands have been using orchestration in songs for years. They worked with Michael Kamen who is a conductor. He is the guy who did all or at least most of the orchestration work for Pink Floyd. He had worked with Metallica on their 1991 self titled release so it was not the first time they played together. He has also worked with others sych as David Bowie, Sting, Queen, Bryan Adams, Queensryche, Tom Petty and a few others. Also Trans Siberian Orchestra came up with original material and the Metallica/Michael Kamen collaberation was Metallica songs played by and orchestra.
